Monthly the chapter holds seven geographically dispersed (Project Management) PM Breakfast Meetings in San Francisco’s Peninsula, South Bay and East Bay. Each of these is a small gathering (10 to 15) project managers for a discussion of the current PM environment, sharing of information, and brainstorming of current challenges. The meeting's agenda is the topics brought by the attendees. Every meeting is facilitated by a chapter volunteer. |

PM Insight Sunnyvale Virtual Meeting - Cross-Team Collaboration - Tips & Tricks to Help Solve DividesWhat if your project's success was heavily dependent on another department with a radically different culture and business drivers than your project team? Every project leader has had an issue at some point in their career with getting everyone on the same page and ensuring people are working together toward the same goals. It is not an easy task. We need both technical and soft skills to bridge departmental divides and align teams toward achieving strategic goals. Using a case study from a large healthcare system, this session covers tips and tricks from organizational and collaboration models used to establish lasting alignment across teams. As most projects span departments and organizations, project management professionals are increasingly challenged to align teams with differing business objectives and often contradictory working cultures. Periods of distrust and goals mis-alignment will precede initial coordination and then ultimately deeper collaboration between the organizational units. As part of project planning and stakeholder management, investing time to think about organizational design will provide dividends later.

PM Breakfast Meeting - San Jose - April 2023When: 14 April 2023 7:30 am-9:00 am Where: Virtual Meeting (Registrants will receive joining details from Meeting Leader) This is a facilitated round table discussion on agenda topics solicited from the attendees during introductions. The intent of the meeting is to promote an informal gathering of project managers to discuss current topics in the profession, receive suggestions from the other attendees on current project challenges, or share/receive information on items of interest. These meetings are open to anyone who is interested. The only cost is what you order form the menu, separate checks. |
