Come join us for a fun day in the park!

The Santa Clara County park system includes 29 regional parks encompassing nearly 48,000 acres of land. It is one of the largest regional park systems in California. The parks provide a sustainable system of diverse parks, trails and natural areas that connects people with the natural environment, supports healthy lifestyles, and offers outstanding visitor experiences.

Hellyer Park is a 178 acre urban park, located just west of Highway 101 in San Jose. Coyote Creek meanders through the park and the paved trail that runs along the creek is enjoyed by hikers, runners, bicyclists and skaters.

For this event, we will be helping to stage the Hellyer Amazing Race. The race takes teams to a variety of locations throughout the park. At each destination, teams must compete in a series of challenges, some mental and some physical. Only when they complete the tasks do they receive the instructions to the next location. We will be leading the secret challenges to test each team's skills.

What to Bring and Wear:

Be prepared to be outdoors for the duration of the project. Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Dress in layers and wear close-toed shoes to protect your feet. Please bring your own refillable water bottle.

To register for this event, sign up on the PMISV Web site.

In addition, go to https://scc.samaritan.com/, register as a volunteer or sign into your account, and complete the necessary waiver. Then sign up for the event on June 15. Indicate that you are part of the group PMI, Silicon Valley Chapter when you sign up. (There will be a drop down list of groups.) Each participant must set up and register through their own volunteer account. If your plans change, please remember to go back and sign into your account to cancel your reservation.

Additional Information:

"Volunteers are covered under PMISV's General Liability insurance for any damages /injuries they may cause while at an event when they are acting on behalf of the organization. However, there is no coverage under PMISV's General Liability insurance for injuries to the Volunteer and PMISV does not provide Workers Compensation."
