Duration - 4 hours

According to VersionOne’s 2018 State of Agile Survey indicates that although 98% of respondents succeed with agile projects at team level “only 4% report agile practices are enabling greater adaptability to market conditions”. This indicates the need for a better approach to large and complex organizations and projects. XSCALE is a relatively new approach that is getting better results at large organizations.

XSCALE de-scales the complexity of the organization and projects to the simplicity of agile through 6 practices that increase economic return, simplify design, improve economic flow, improve self-management of teams and work streams, motivate a learning culture, and help understand the organization as an ecosystem.

Content:

1. Introduction to all six practices

a. Exponential return

b. Simple design

c. Continuous throughput

d. Autonomous collaboration

e. Learning Organizations

f.  Ecosystem thinking

2. 3D-Kanban to visualize from Portfolio to iterations

3. Business Bingo for fast, breadth-first feature budgets and priorities

Takeaways:

  • Understand the advantages of de-scaling
  • Get a general understanding of the what XSCALE practices are and their advantages
