PM Insights: Foster City - What is Design Thinking?
PM Insights Foster City -
What is Design Thinking?
In this session we will discover "What is Design Thinking." Design Thinking (DT) has become popular in the past few years because it has played a critical role in the disruptions we all see every day, most visibly in the tech industry. But DT emerged formally 70 years ago, and in reality is as old as man using tools.
We will also have a small discussion around DT as a mindset. When DT is viewed as a mindset, it's powers can be applied in anyone's work. We include a short activity around one of the main tenets of the methodology, so participants can get a real feel for one of the pieces of the puzzle.
Takeaways:
- Describe Design Thinking in context of what it means to you
- Explain why Design Thinking evolved and why it is so powerful today
- Learn a new skill in one of the tools in the Design Thinking toolkit
- Discover where to learn more about Design Thinking and how to apply it better in your work life
