PM Insights Foster City -

Adding Estimating and Tracking Tools to Microsoft Project

When:   Tue, January 26, 2021  6:00pm-8:00pm
Where:  Virtual Meeting (Registrants will receive joining details from Meeting Leader One Day prior to event.)

Last Date for On-line Registration is Sun, January 24, 2021

Description:

Microsoft Project lacks estimating and other tools needed for good project planning, management, and control.  You can copy such tools to your templates and schedules from a template Oliver will demonstrate and provide on request.  He will also show how setting project priorities can reduce project durations.

The tools he will show include views with tables and formulas for checking schedule quality, estimating and tracking objectively, recording the root cause of task troubles, including shock absorbers, and reporting.

 Takeaways:

  • Transition from worker to manager oriented task names
  • Transition easily from duration to work estimating
  • Calculate a Risk Reserve and an Estimating Uncertainty Buffer
  • Close the loop between tracking and improving template estimating data
