Description:

This workshop will focus on neuroscience and leadership -- and how you can use this information to support your effectiveness as a project leader. In this fun and interactive session, we’ll overview the five domains of social interaction that the brain is always monitoring and how that affects both ourselves and our teams. Known by the acronym, SCARF (Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness and Fairness)*, these five domains give us insights into the dynamics teams may experience and the direction you can take to support your teams.

*  David Rock from NeuroLeadership Institute created the SCARF model.

Takeaways:

  • Gain a foundational understanding of the SCARF model and how to use the lens of SCARF to gain perspective and influence your leadership effectiveness.
  • Begin pinpointing the domains that are currently most important to you.
  • Learn how to adapt your leadership approach to be more effective and increase psychological safety, engagement, creativity, collaboration and decision making.
  • Discuss and identify specific 2-3 techniques to implement immediately at work.
