When:   Wed July 11th 2018, 5:30pm-8:30pm
Where:  Sunnyvale Community Center Ballroom - 550 E. Remington Dr. Sunnyvale, CA 94085

Description:

Does your Program Plan include combinations of some of these? Chips, Boards, Chassis, Racks, ASICs? Allocations, BOM, Suppliers, Builds? Firmware, Drivers, Kernel, Datapath, Management, Application? Development, Supply Chain, Ops, Field Support? Bringup, Test, Merge, Integration, Qual, SQA, Compliance? Schedule, Budget, Actuals, Reporting? Agile software on phased hardware? How well does your plan adapt to changes to requirements, ASICs, configurations, allocations, schedule, budget, lead times, supplier delivery, and test failure?

If some of those apply, you may have a problem on your hands. How well do your GANTT/Schedule, Allocations, BOM, Build Plan, Supply Chain, Budget/Actuals plans connect with each other and handle change? This session will overview architecture for quantitative planning using Excel, Access, Project and Visio in ways you probably are not yet using. The methods and tools described give the Program Manager leverage to quantitatively plan and manage the program across involved organizations, while paying attention to program issues and including schedule and finances ultimately to meet program business objectives.

Takeaways:

You will learn

  •  Overview of Architecture for Quantitative Management of program logistics integrating the following tools and skills.
  • Using Excel Structured Tables with INDEX/MATCH, SUMIF, and MS Access QUERY/JOIN.
  • Building quantified program plans using Structured Tables for Allocation, Supply Chain, Build Plans, development BOM, and CAPEX.
  • Connecting MS Project GANTT schedule data to drive quantified program plans.
  • Reporting Program Plans and Actuals using the tools above to drive Pivot Tables and Charts, Power BI, and plan visualizations using MS Visio Pro.

These tools are shown in the context of programs described above but are applicable to many problems requiring quantitative management.
