As a team leader you strive to be more agile and help your team be more productive. To succeed, you need an agile mindset, combined with leadership and team management skills. At the same time need to do so within the context of your organization and its culture. The new Disciplined Agile Lean Scrum Master (DALSM) training and certification provides tools and strategies to help you lead an agile team, influence people, and remove impediments. Using real-world agile strategies, you will learn how to tailor your team’s Way of Working (WoW) to optimize productivity and continuously improve.

Upon completion of this workshop, you will be prepared to begin your Disciplined Agile certification journey.

Disciplined Agile Lean Scrum Masters (“DALSM”) are prepared to provide value beyond what a Scrum Master that is promoting and supporting Scrum as defined in the Scrum Guide.  They support teams and organizations application of the Disciplined Agile toolkit, described in four views:

Flow: Lifecycles and Workflows

  • Disciplined Agile (DA) is a process-decision toolkit that provides straightforward guidance to help people, teams, and organizations to streamline their processes in a context-sensitive manner
  • Improvements over adopting a prescriptive/ridged method or framework via a guided continuous improvement
  • Multiple lifecycle to choose from: Agile, Lean, Exploratory, Continuous Delivery Agile, Continuous Delivery Lean, and Program

Certifications Awarded: 

After passing the Disciplined Agile Certification Test you will be awarded the Certified Disciplined Agilist (CDA) designation.

Based on your experience with agile teams, you may apply for the following designations:

Prerequisites / who can attend

Students to purchase and use during the workshop: Choose Your WoW!: A Disciplined Agile Delivery Handbook for Optimizing Your Way of Working (WoW) – Jan 1 2019 by Scott Ambler & Mark Lines.

Understanding of both agile (Scrum) and lean fundamentals, preferably with experience working on agile teams

About the Instructor:

Joshua Barnes is the Founder and President of Process Mentors, Inc. ( a PMI Disciplined Agile Adoption Partner. Our core focus is training, assessments and coaching services. Joshua is a Certified Disciplined Agile Instructor as well as Certified Disciplined Agile Coach and 1 of 8 people in the world selected to train other PMI Disciplined Agile Instructors.  He also has experience and certifications if industry recognized agile frameworks (SPC, PSM2, etc.).  One of his personal goals is to support the growth of the PMI Disciplined Agile community.  He is a published author, conference presenter, and leader in the Disciplined Agile community.
