PM Insight Sunnyvale - Program Design for Digital Transformation
PM Insight-Sunnyvale:
Program Design for Digital Transformation
What factors cause important transformation and innovation initiatives to fail or succeed? How can we as practitioners prepare for and influence successful change?
Globally, over $2 Trillion is projected to be spent in 2020 on digital transformation, up 42% from 2017 (International Data Corporation report). While spending will reach an all-time high, so will uncertainty. Business leaders are increasingly feeling less prepared to lead their businesses, unsure of what their top initiative is, what will be most impactful in driving growth, and what they’re investing the greatest amount of budget in. With increased pressure to make progress in digital business, less than half of executives believe that they have the right capabilities to advance transformations.
During this short session, we’ll define the trends that are driving this increased interest in digital transformation, articulate what organizations mean by “transformation”, identify key factors and components of successful transformation programs, explore how to lead and navigate change while avoiding pitfalls, and begin to apply new methods and approaches to thoughtfully drive transformation programs and projects.
Takeaways:
We’ll complete this session with the following outcomes:
- Review business-critical trends driving digital transformation
- Define “transformation” and articulate key components of successful transformation programs
- Explore framework and methods for leading change
- Identify major pitfalls in transformation programs and how to address them before they happen
- Apply design methods to plan transformation programs/projects at your organization
