Freelancers contributed $1.2 trillion dollars to the U.S economy in annual earnings in 2020, a 22% increase since 2019. The prevalence of freelance work as opposed to permanent jobs will continue to accelerate as more businesses transition to project-based frameworks in pursuit of organizational agility.

About the Instructor:
Rebecca Medina
Rebecca Medina is the CEO and Co-Founder of TalentCheetah, an online talent marketplace for expert freelance project managers. She is a PMP® certified Project Management Professional with over 25 years of hands-on experience managing complex information technology portfolios, primarily in the telecommunications, technology and software industries. She is fluent in diverse development and project methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Critical Chain.
She has extensive experience launching new Project Management Offices and leading senior program teams in the delivery of successful technical products and services. After working as a full-time employee for two decades, she transitioned into independent consulting, doing business as Mobile Program Management. Since her transition to freelance work, she remains passionate about raising awareness within the project management community.
Rebecca is an East Los Angeles, California native and former student of Jaime Escalante, the AP Calculus teacher featured in the movie “Stand and Deliver.” She relocated to Northern California to attend Stanford University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English. A strong advocate for community engagement and servant leadership, Rebecca has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Santa Clara County, a career counselor to economically disadvantaged women and an academic advisor to at-risk youth.
She resides in Silicon Valley, CA with her husband and young son Adam.
