PM Insights Foster City Virtual Meeting: Preserving Agility at Scale through Value-Based Project Management
PM Insights Foster City -
Preserving Agility at Scale through Value-Based Project Management
Today, the manager's role is replaced by the VUCA leader's. The role of an effective leader in the VUCA world has changed dramatically. We expect leaders to move from telling to motivating and inspiring others, aligning ‘teams of teams'’ goals to the overall strategic direction without micromanaging while giving each individual a sense of belonging to a shared set of values and purpose.
Using an integral approach, we will explore multiple perspectives on an organization's people, practices, structures, cultures, and worldviews. This enables us to understand better where they are by applying Ken Wilber’s Spiral Dynamics theory.
Participants will then be led through a series of exercises individually and in small groups to become more aware of our values and how to identify them in the actions of others. We will end by coalescing our learnings into tools we, project and product managers, can use to reduce scaling friction through value-based decision-making.
- Understand How to Apply Spiral Dynamics to Meet an Organization Where it is At
- Identify and Take Ownership of Your Values
- Practice Identifying Values in Others
- Acquire New Tools to Reduce Scaling Friction through Value-Based Decision Making

About the Instructor:
Nathalie Brochstein
Nathalie is the CEO and Founder of LeadingClearly. Founder Friction is the main reason why 70% of VC-backed start-ups fail. We solve this problem by advising VC-backed start-ups on their scaling strategy by optimizing their tech operating models.
Over the course of Nathalie's 20-year corporate career, starting as an engineer, Nathalie was quickly recognized and promoted for her technical team-building expertise. As an executive in Silicon Valley, she led multiple functions to breakthrough levels of performance by transitioning off unwieldy, outdated infrastructures to cloud-based DevOps, launching eCommerce SAAS solutions, and designing big data customer-facing platforms with product health dashboards for informed strategic decision-making required for companies to win through mico-pivots.
In 2009 Nathalie made the decision to increase her impact by moving the focus of her career from digital system architecture to the people working to deliver them. Since then she became known for her ability to connect with leaders, from founders of start-ups to fortune 100 executives in designing their strategies and move from heavy outdated project management processes to innovative, effective, and team-based operating models attuned to win at the pace of the digital era.
Nathalie brings a unique blend of skills to support the success of her clients from her deep experience in digital engineering to her studies in Organizational Analysis at Stanford University, Coaching from CTI, and a Master’s degree in Psychology from CIIS and in Science from the Technion. .
