Negotiations are common place in any project. Whether you’re assigning projects to your team members, having your client or vendor agree to certain terms, getting to an agreement on budget, scope or schedule with your stakeholders, discussing work performance issues, getting to an agreement on risk mitigation, get bonuses– you are negotiating.
However, many still prefer to avoid negotiations like the plague. So they concede that $10K bonus, live with the unrealistic schedule or budget, get stuck with the difficult or under-performed team members, pay too much for resources, do not have risk responses. Negotiations are often seen as stressful, nerve-racking and unpleasant experiences, but they don’t have to be.
This workshop will teach you basic negotiation terms, principles, rules and concepts. You will take part in 3 different negotiations and analyze them in detail. You will learn to use leverage and recognize your counterparts’ mistakes to get the upper hand. You will learn to negotiate persuasively while remaining respectful. You will learn to win negotiations without making the other party feel like a loser.
More importantly, you will learn to actually look forward to negotiations and use them to your advantage to get what you want.
By attending this workshop, you will not only learn…
• …how to apply basic negotiation concepts and principles
• …how to approach different types of negotiations
• …how to get advantage without taking advantage
• …how to avoid making costly negotiation mistakes
• …participate in three (3) real negotiations with your peers
• …feel the rush and the pressure of real negotiations
• …share your results and experiences with your peers
This workshop is suitable for anyone on a project team.
