PMISV Is a 501(c)(6) organization. We are 100% run by volunteers.

Our Vision -

To be recognized as Silicon Valley’s focal point and resource for all aspects of project management expertise and leadership.

Our Mission -

To support the interest and needs of its members by providing the leadership
and forums for expanding and sharing of project management knowledge, skills and experience.

In 1997, the Silicon Valley chapter (PMISV) was founded as a regional component of the Project Management Institute. In early days of Silicon Valley, project managers were often morphed from expert software and hardware engineers. Our Chapter was established to promote the gold standard and best practices of project management. More importantly, the chapter created an active consortium to connect and celebrate the fellowship of project management as a profession.

Every local chapter of PMI has its unique theme and spirit. Today at Silicon Valley Chapter, we have members working in high tech, bio science, banking, finance, government & space programs, real estate, construction, joint venture, and consulting – all with a common connection that we are Professional Project Leaders at our respective companies and industries. The diverse expertise of our members fuel our events with interesting topics and fresh dialogues. At our sponsored events, you’ll always learn something new. Our community consists of members who live and work across the Bay Area from San Francisco to Santa Cruz, from Half Moon Bay to Pleasanton, and all cities in between.

The PMI Silicon Valley Chapter is a not-for-profit organization, section 501(c)(6) where it is led and managed 100% by volunteers.
