Fellow Chapter Members,

Warm welcome to the new volunteer leaders and greetings to all PMISV Chapter members. March is the month for PMI Region 7 Leadership meet and this year the Board members attended the Region 7 meeting at Honolulu Hawaii. Please check the Chapter home page for debrief from the attendees on the learnings from the event. In summary, PMI is transforming to address the needs of the digital age and we as PMI members have a role to play. I am very excited at the opportunity and looking forward to work closely with PMI Leadership and Region 7 mentors to make our chapter a role model for the transformational initiatives.

As part of the PMI transformation, we have an opportunity to start Next Gen Leadership program for college grads and other young enthusiasts who have chosen Project Management as their career. I would like to start this program in Q2 2018. If you have ideas or would like to part of this opportunity please contact me at president@pmisv.org

Last month I shared with you that we have opened up our evening events at Fremont, Sunnyvale and Foster City for Veterans and active-duty military personnel at no cost. Please encourage veterans and active-duty personnel in your network to take advantage of this opportunity. To make this more effective, we are looking for a Veteran to lead this opportunity. Please drop an email to vp_operations@pmisv.org

We continue to see improved attendance at our Chapter events in 2018. Thank You for all the volunteers who are constantly striving hard to put up events that would provide value to our members and Project Management community in the Bay Area. All active volunteer leaders please save the date for Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Tuesday April 17.

I would like to share a with you a good read “Unleash Your Values” by Tom Crea. Tom address the core traits to be a successful leaders in business today.

I encourage all Chapter Members who wish to be a Chapter Leader to apply to enroll in the Leadership program and take advantage of the resources. If you are interested, please send an email to vp_strategy@pmisv.org

If you are a past president and interested in becoming the VP of Strategy for the Chapter for a period of one year from July 2018 thru June 2019, please contact me at president@pmisv.org

I would also like to take this opportunity to request you to join us at our Chapter Events and encourage your Project Management friends to join the Chapter and volunteer.

We are constantly looking for new volunteer leaders and encourage you to submit your application under the “Get Involved” tab on our website’s home page, once you’ve logged in.

I hope to see you at a Chapter event soon! Volunteer with Passion. Happy Volunteering!

Sincerely,
